Curious about the detective work that goes on behind the scenes in a museum?
Glimpse behind the scenes during this lunchtime talk and uncover what detective work goes into finding out about the objects in a collection. Winterbourne Curator Henrietta will draw upon her experience at Winterbourne and at Birmingham Museums Trust to tease out some of her most fascinating voyages of discovery. Meet a Victorian philanthropist with a hidden passion for archaeology, follow the surprising tale of a magnificent Parliamentary court suit which the Nettlefolds wore as fancy dress, and along the way encounter one of the greatest Victorians of them all – Charles Darwin.
Recommended for ages 16+. The talk will take place in the Winterbourne Centre for Horticulture. For any queries about this talk, please email our Learning Officer, Ellie Hill.
All courses, workshops and events at Winterbourne House & Garden are non-refundable unless cancelled by Winterbourne.
